One Australian dollar is roughly equivalent to 30 Baht
How many short times do you get for 3 million Baht these days.
Woman loses 100k in bag snatch
Victoria Police say a woman is been treated for shock after losing about $100,000 cash in a bag-snatch at Mildura, in Victoria's north-west, Australia.
The woman's handbag was taken from her trolley in the car park of a supermarket yesterday afternoon.
Victoria Police Inspector Simon Clements says the victim was from a war-torn country that had been hit by a bank collapse, and the cash was her life-savings.
"I guess she has just got some fear of banks as a result of that," he said.
"When the police asked her how much was in the handbag when she was reporting it, she collapsed and was taken to hospital."
Police will be examining security footage from both inside and outside the supermarket for any leads.
They are looking for a white, 1995 dual cab Toyota in connection with the theft. |

| If your silly enough to be walking around with that kind of cash your just asking for trouble. I used to transport large amounts of cash for a living and never carried that much cash without being armed and having at least one other guy with me. |

| I'm in the money business and it has never ceased to amaze me just how much money gets carried around by individuals at times. Screw armed hold up's and the like, just get friendly with a banker and have them tip you off when an everyday individual is leaving the building with a wad of cash....easy money. |

One of my father's unmarried aunts, old like hell, stashed her backup cash between sheets of toilet paper and forgot (she was seriously demented due to old age). Money was never found, I can just guess where it finished.

Thankfully there has been a relatively happy ending to this story....
Police recover cash after $125,000 bag snatch
Police have recovered nearly $100,000 stolen from a woman’s handbag at a supermarket car park in western Victoria.
Three people are expected to face Mildura Magistrates Court this afternoon charged over the theft at the Fishers IGA supermarket in Mildura on Sunday.
Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Anderson said police had recovered $99,400 in cash, as well as the 34-year-old victim’s handbag and personal belongings.
The woman was carrying up to $125,000 in her handbag at the time, which she hoped to buy a house with.
‘‘Some of the money appears to have been spent, but [the victim] is very relieved. She is still distraught but a lot better than she was doing yesterday,’’ Senior Sergeant Anderson said.
The woman, who emigrated from Iraq nine years ago, had been shopping with her niece on Sunday when she loaded her car and drove away about 2pm.
Minutes later she realised she had left her brown leather handbag in the trolley she had used, but when she returned the bag was gone.
She collapsed when she walked into Mildura police station to report the crime.
Police said a 30-year-old man was arrested in Etiwanda Avenue in Mildura yesterday afternoon and charged with theft.
A second man, 28, and a 19-year-old woman were arrested at an address in Ambleside Crescent this morning. They are being questioned by police.
Police said the man was expected to be charged with theft and the woman with handling stolen goods.
The money was allegedly found at a home in Twelfth Street.
Senior Sergeant Anderson said information from the public had helped police make the arrests.
‘‘It was good detective work, a thorough investigation utilising CCTV and with assistance from members of the public,’’ he said.
He also encouraged people to bank their money with recognised financial institutions. |

a similar story-
years ago, i worked in greece. the boss of the bar gave his girlfriend a leather bag with the nights takings to take home.
she put the bag on the handlebar of her moped, and went back in the bar for something she had forgot.
came out 2 minutes later, and the bag was gone.
nobody around for miles. the greeks were baffled.
at the end of the season, i heard what really happened.
one of the english bar girls, left the bar and got on her moped, which was the same colour as the other girls, she noticed a bag on the handlebars, said nothing and rode off with it.
she even hit the greeks up all season for a sub on her wages to make it look like she was skint.
to this day, they still dont know what happened.

Unbelievable that someone could forget their life savings like that, I would be totally paranoid and never let it out of my hands. |

no brit, most "normal" people would keep the lube and dress in their loom.
unless your running about patts using it as an emergency fucking pack, see any st looms, find a lb, and then just break into your emergency pack.
do you vacum pack it brit for ease of carrying it? |
