Normally I'm answering everyone elses questions on the forum, so I thought it was about time to turn things around !
Despite more than 20 trips to Thailand over the last 10 years, I have never been to Phuket, infact I've intentionally avoided the place.
However, given the amazing LB scene there, next month I plan to spend a few days in Patong Beach, Phuket.
Can anyone recommend a Hotel based on the following requirements;
1. Walking distance to Nightlife / Beach
2. Price range between 1500 -2000 Baht (approx.)
3. Clean & Comfortable
4. Room Safe or Safety Boxes at reception
5. No Joiner Fees / LB&GG Friendly
6. Decent Restaurant with Room Service
7. Swimming Pool a bonus but not mandatory !
Cheers
Koykaeng
P.S. This posting questions is a nice change from moderating...... |

Hi Koykaeng,
Not surprisingly your requirements are similar to mine and I recently stayed at this place which is only a sixty second walk from Soi Crocodile (Katoey) at the beach end of Bangla Road.
However, no pool and not sure about room service (food & drink that is )
Everything else falls within your criteria!

I would recommend the Deevana resort, I spent 3 weeks there last year and it is a VERY nice resort
Great pool bar, great room service, spotlessly clean and very guest friendly.
Prices's start from 1.500 for a basic room, I paid 2.400 and had a room with my own private Jacuzzi, I would recommend,
The only down fall is that is about a 15 minute walk to Bangla, which is not a problem for me, you can always take a tuck if you don't want to walk
It also has a couple of entrances's if your a little shy and don't want to walk past reception with your lb guest.
The first night there I gave the 2 night security guards 100 baht each and after that they looked after me, sometimes not evan bothering to take your guests ID off them, they just gave me a salute as I walk passed |

I recommed the Patong Villa - stayed there with my lb g/f last Easter - she made the booking from BKK - on Beach Rd less then 5 minutes walk from Soi Bangla. Very lb friendly - paid 1100 bhat a night which was a slightly discounted rate.

Had originally considered this hotel, although read a few mixed reviews about the condition of the rooms ?
I appreciate the position is fantastic, right amongst all the action.
Cheers

I was there last Sep 05 , 4 nights with my LB g/f . I actually booked as Mr & Mrs ... gave my passport and no other question followed our registration. Friendly and discreet.
However I found walking to nightlife area and/or to central beaches quite annoying .. so I would definitely add a tuk-tuk fare ( about 50-100 bath, one way) to your daily budget.
One more info I'd like to share with other members looking for accomodation : I always use this following Url worldwide and in particular for BKK, Pattaya and , of course, Pukhet :
www.octopustravel.com
lot of choice , from lowest fares to .. the ones nobody can afford..!!
enjoy !
cheers |

Originally this resort was my first choice, until I did some research.
The location is the best, theres no doubt about that, but what about the joiner fee's?
Theres another thread on this hotel where BM's have been charged 600 Baht |
