Looks like I managed to leave Phuket at the right time, as no sooner had I boarded my flight, there was a Tsunami evacuation warning owing to some underwater volcano activity!
Headed out last night keen to find some hidden treasures in Northern Thailand. I had heard about one particular spot in a Beer Bar complex, but wasn't certain of its location. Whilst walking the beat, I did find a couple of little Beer bars run by Ladyboys, but they were all either too old and/or ugly to be of any interest.
Finally I found what I had been searching for the Marina Bar, located in Loi Kroh Rd. If you walk away from the Night Market, past the Suriwongse & Duang Tawan Hotels, cross a small waterway and continue for a few hundred metres you will find a fairly sizeable Beer bar complex.
Towards the rear of the place, on the left hand side, near the boxing ring is Marina Bar, with a few sets of table & chairs to lounge about in.
The Mamasan/Boss is strangely enough named Marina, and is best described as being "entertaining".
In addition, there were another 6 LB's working last night when I visited, and an additional troup of LB cabaret performers turned up at around 11:30pm to perform a little routine with elaborate costumes, with the boxing ring their stage.
There were at least 3 or 4 LB's working that were attractive enough to barfine, and throughout the night all the LB's working here would put on hats or other props and perform these synchronised dance routines in front of the bar, which made drinking here lots of fun.
After Phuket, the attitude and nature of all the staff here was a pleasant change, and a few free rounds of Tequila were passed around whilst I was there. Despite my plans for a night alone, at 1am in the morning I found myself on the back of a motorcycle being driven by one of the bars LB's named Far, who took us back to my hotel for extra curricular activities. Given I left at 1am, I avoided the barfine which I'm lead to believe is reasonable 300 baht. Slipped 1000 Baht in Far's jeans and sent her on the way. She did express her desire to stay LT, but I felt like sleeping alone.
Cheers

On my second night in Chiang Mai, headed to the Simon Cabaret to investigate the possibilities. There are 2 shows nightly, one at 7:30pm and another at 9:30. If you want to go home with a lovely LB, then head to the second show, which will set you back 500 Baht.
Had a great night, and left on the back of a motorcycle with a girl from the costume department and the most beautiful ladyboy in the show !
Not sure about 3 full grown adults on 1 motorbike, but had a great ST with a stunning LB, who was so feminine named Daisy.
Currently out of action for a couple of nights, as I am writing this report from a small village near the border with Burma ! Haven't spotted a LB yet, and the internet cafe closes at 8:00pm.
Have some photos and more information about Simon Cabaret to post later.
Cheers

See how things changing in few years time...Please gather any info possible, I gonna hit CM very soon! |

On my final day in Chiang Mai, was sitting in an intenet cafe when i noticed the gentleman to my right was looking at a familiar website. Infact the site he was browsing just happened to be Ladyboy 69 !
At this point I decided to introduce myself, and let the guy know that I moderate on this forum, and enquired about his interest in ladyboys.
Before leaving the cafe, I mentioned I was most likely going to head back to Marina bar, so perhaps we can have a Beer and a chat.
Later that evening, I arrived at the Beer bar complex only to find a boxing tournament underway, and all the bars surrounding the boxing ring (including Marina Bar) screened off, and a 400 baht entry fee being demanded ! Not giving a shit about Thai Boxing, I thought 400 Baht was bordering on extortion, particularly after I had just had dinner for a mere 25 baht. After some pleading in my best Thai, I managed to negotiate a reduced entry fee of 200 baht in order to access the Marina Bar.
This boxing tournament didn't assist the Beer bars, and the place was pretty dead compared with my first visit. There were less customers, and fewer Ladyboys at the bar also. After sharing a few drinks with the prettiest LB working named Jennifer, my new friend from the internet cafe (Mr N ) showed up. Soon after the boxing ceased and the bars Mamasan/Owner Marina commenced her little performance which involved at least 6 costume changes. Was feeling pretty stuffed, and asked for the bill which was just over 1000 Baht, when Mr N kindly offered to settle the account for me. So to my new friend Mr N, thanks for the drinks, the next round is certainly on me !
Have lots of photos and other information about this venue which I will post shortly.
Cheers

'After sharing a few drinks with the prettiest LB working named Jennifer....'
I was there last November. Jennifer was the prettiest there then. Later - about 3.00am: Very quiet - I bumped into her and a friend in Loi Kroh. They offered for me to go back to their place - but two LBs are not my thing.
Jennifer gave me the website address of Marina Bar, but I lost it. |

Not sure about the website address, but here's a scan of the business card I received from the bar, complete with contact details (phone & e-mail) and a handy map which would have saved me alot of walking !

Thanks for the report koykaeng
Chang Mai is a place i have been planning to visit for the last couple of years now, but never got around to it.
Did you notice if there was a girl called Kahk working at Simon?, my first love!, it was a picture of her back in 2004 that first got me started on the road to L/B's, Gorgeous sexy lady!
I've been trying to make contact with her for a long while now, but she seems to be a bit elusive
If your still in contact with Daisy could you find out if shes still around, and maybe put me in touch, theres a Beer or 2 in it for you
Also, did you fly from Phukett to CM?, because thats where i need to fly from but cannot find anything on line, it's all from BKK.

Hi Thaiway,
Not sure about Kahk, hard to recognise anyone given all the costumes & make up !
I flew Thai Airways From Phuket to Chiang Mai via Bangkok.
If you organise your flights well, you only need to be in Bangkok for around 30 minutes before boarding the plane for Chiang Mai.
Cheers

P.S No shortage of taxis at Chiang Mai airport, although almost every hotel seems to have a mini bus waiting for guests. |
