You'll need to be able to speak Japanese to a high level in most of these places, and ignore the no "foreigner" signs outside some of them. They are to keep out people who do not know the system and how to behave.

The scene is very different to Thailand, and expensive, though there are some internet forums for meeting.

There is vitually no information on the forum to date regarding the Japan Ladyboy scene, so any comments and links are more than welcome.

I used to write a lot on ladyboyladyboy.com, seanchai's website, contributing info on Japan, LBs, travel and medical advice until the trolls took it over and it went downhill, though a few of us still keep in touch with PMs.

I'll have a look and see what I have, and try to put a larger post together on the scene, though if you cannot speak Japanese and don't have a big wallet, a trip to the Land of Smiles is a much better idea.

The information on Thailand's Ladyboy scene is extensive, however not a great deal exists regarding the many other Asian countries in the region.

The two links are the most English language friendly.

There are many other bulletin boards and forums in Japan, but unless you can read and write Japanese, as I do, you will not be able to get anywhere.
