The most popular festivals held early in the month of November, is the Loy Katoey Festival. This festival is very well known to Thai people and also foreigners. It takes place when the weather is clear, on the night of the full moon, when the river is high over the country. There is an important meaning about "Loy Katoey", first, "Loy" means "to float" and we all know what "Katoey"means....

For the record, I was only joking when I referred to the festival as Loy Katoey.
It's actually called Loy Krathong !
Here's an informative link for those of you interested in learning a little Thai culture;

It's a lovely festival, and all the girls (ladyboys included) go to a great deal of trouble to turn up in traditional costumes.
Cheers

Ahhh...Koykaeng.... you had me going !
I really thought there was a festival or something in Pattaya that I'd missed out on.
I think the forum members should choose a day and tell all the LB's they should have a "Thai Ladyboy Day"... once a year.
And they can all go on a street parade - and we can see them all in the same place.
FANTASTIC. |

Ha ha, Loy Gratoey, I love your joke! And the pics are nice too.
But Brit, you really need a crash-course in Thai! I can assure you, it opens some doors over here, and when in Singapore, you'll get a discount at Orchard Tower, 555.

Thanks Lads.
Yeap - I need to learn Thai, and its next on my list of things to do. My Thai language is ropey.
I'm a little bit scared that the illusion will be lost when i know all that they're saying about me... "old fat b*stard".... because right now I'm a "Hundsom Man !" |
