While I was sleeping off my hangover in Pattaya on my last full day there , my wife and her sister were at the beach talking with one of the moped riders (not sure if it was a taxi or Cop) who was looking after a farang that had been drugged by some beach girls who then ran off with all the posessions that he had on him.
He apparently was in a very bad way barely conscious and did'nt know where he was .
They were not sure how the drugging was done but I'm sure it was not ash in beer. Wink

Thats why I said I was worried earlier. Shocked

sounds like a old wives tale to me .... like if you drink from straw you get drunker quicker ... Rolling Eyes

I don't want to start something up, but drinking soem alcoholic drinks through a straw, such as beer, does get you drunk faster.

The vacuum created when drinking through a straw lowers the boiling point of alcohol (usually about 80 degrees C). Alcohol vapours are created in the straw and are inhaled into your lungs, and the alcohol enters your blood stream much faster.

With beer, through a straw it enters your mouth in a very narrow stream, and as a result, there is a larger surface in the oral cavity. As a result of this more alcohol can evaporate before it is swallowed. The palate (with a loot of blood circulation inside) already absorbs part of the alcohol vapours. Also this is a shorter way for the alcohol to get into the blood and to make you drunk faster.

All that said, anyone drinking beer through a straw is probably already drunk.

How about drinking beer that has had cigarette ash added to it through a straw? Confused

I don't believe it myself.

Jenny and John run a pretty tight ship, with Jenny behind the bar most nights and John mingling with the guests and girls.

I might be wrong, but I don't think any of the regular girls that work out of JSB would risk being tossed out of the bar on there ass, or even worse tossed in the clink, by drugging an already drunken punter.

I would rather think that s/b got rather drunk over the course of the evening and fell asleep after reaching his room.

s/b is all about drama IMHO.
