Cocktail & Dreams is a friendly bar with a few stunners as I recall, and the Bangla Rd scene is OK, albeit a bit too public if you live and work here in the region... But the main positive there is the beach, diving, and golf, PLUS ladyboys - one needs that balance in life on occasion! Unfortunately my trips to Thailand tend to be far too short to waste valuable lb time transitting to and from Phuket, so I say fuck balance! It's all ladyboys, 24/7 - I should pitch a tent at NEP! Never been down to Pattaya for the same reason (plus I hear the water/beach is skanky - true?), but since starting to read this forum here and listening to all the Pattaya testimonials (are you guys with the local tourism board?) I may finally have to make a trip. Also on my last trip the driver said that the new airport is much closer to Pattaya (true?) than before and a lot of people go there straight from the airport.
