Could all people taking the trouble to post photos anywhere on the forum please re-size before posting.
As a guide, they should fit comfortably on the page, and their should be no need to scroll sideways to view the photos.
I had to delete some photos earlier as they were that big you would have needed a 42" plasma screen to view them.
This issue has been on my mind for a while, however I have finally decided to make a point of addressing it.
Cheers

For anyone who isn't sure how to do this, there is a free online resizer at http://www.shrinkpictures.com/
It's very simple to use, with clear instructions.
I'd suggest selecting 600 pixels as a good size. |

Thanks for that Kliome, good thinking !
For the record, all the photos in my trip report were resized with PICASA.
http://picasa.google.com.au/
It's also good for some "basic" effects and quick fixes.
Here's an image re-sized to 600 pixels with PICASA
Cheers

I didn't have the option on my version of XP either. I noticed you can can download it from Microsoft on their PowerToys free download page.
I think this is what you are talking about Donny. Takes a few seconds to download, and you don't need to restart your computer once its installed.
Creates a copy in the new size, and it's super easy to use.

I hear you Donny - hard to believe, but this is not 'Out of the Box' XP functionality...it's an extension. Some PC manufacturers may pre-load your system with it as part of the OS install...others do not.
I was aiming the post above at folks who followed your instructions and couldn't figure out why they couldn't see the re-size option. For them, they just need to do the quick down load from the link above and they are in business like you and me.
Cheers.

I tried and am satisfied with the resizing I get with the following program...I am sure other BMs have heard of it.

That shell extension is part of XP Power Tools and doesn't come with XP.
But once the power tools are installed you may have accidentally loaded this handy feature. (That's what I did and I suspect Donny did the same.
Incidentally, I use this when I'm in a hurry or when I'm resizing other people's pics...
It's a very handy utility. |
