Thinking of doing this as a trip: I actually fly into Bangkok on 11/22/07, plan on staying in Bangkok for two day. Want to fly to Manila and head to Angeles City for three nights, check out the local action, then back to Bangkok and on to Pattaya for for eight nites. Totoal vacation time will be 14days.
Has anyone done this type of field trip before? Since I only have two weeks, wanted to sqeeze in as much as possible? So if anyone has any feed back on places to stay and things to see. Let me know. Thanks
Hi
Would choose different from Manila, but that is just me tired of the Traffic in Manila.
If you think Bangkok is bad after a monsoon rain, it is training grounds for day to day in Manila
Will head out to Cebu on October 18th till 25th then hanging around Thailand, Laos, Malaysia till December 5th
Still prefer from all the places, Thailand so far. I am sure in Laos it will be Mary and the 5

I recently completed a similar trip, i.e., 5 nights in Angeles City, 4 in Bangkok and 5 in Pattaya. Bottom line, devote more time to Thailand and less to Angeles.
If you are strictly looking for ladyboys, I suggest you limit your time in Angeles. Compared to Thailand, Angeles has few options. I didn't find one bar in Angeles that was devoted only to ladyboys- essentially, you have to bump into one at a go-go featuring all GGs, or an occasional few hanging out on the main steet in town. I recall a few other posts in the "Outside Thailand" section which seem to confirm my experience. Consider staying at the Pacific Breeze hotel. It is new, a block from the action, and offers rooms with jacuzzis.
This board is full of posts about the Pattaya scene, but I'd recommend as much time as possible in Bangkok. In a week there's no way you can cover all the options. I rarely leave Nana Plaza. And of course you also have Guess Bar, KC and KC3 in Patpong, plus all the others who don't work the bars but are available through information on this site. My recommended hotel is the Majestic Grande- a block from Nana Plaza, with excellent rooms, a pool on the 7th floor, gym and a fantastic breakfast buffet included within the room rates. The only down side, if you are on a tight budget, is that standard rooms go for about 3200 baht. Take a girl and visit the King's Palace area. Lots of cool temples and such. Or maybe a taxi outside town to the Floating Markets.
Finishing with Pattaya is a good choice. After all your time in Angeles (dirty, poor food, few things to do) and the hectic (but incredible) time in Bangkok, hanging out near the beach in Pattaya is a welcome change. A little research on this site will give you plenty of recommendations where to visit. HiBoss on Soi 6 is probably worth a visit during the afternoon, however I'd head out to Walking Street between 10-11pm. I've always found someone who caught my attention at JSB, Blue Ice or simply walking around the area. If you're into the girlfriend experience, take your favorite on an elephant ride- they're available just an hour outside town. Or maybe a crocodile show. Jomtien Beach, adjacent to Pattaya and only a baht bus ride away, has cleaner, quieter and cleaner beaches. Of course, Pattaya offers lots of water activities as well.
Wherever you decide, enjoy. A bad day in Thailand beats a good day most everywhere else.
