Hi Chaps,
I am visiting BKK for only the second time in December. I have read the forum extensively and used the search function, and while some places seem ok, I thought I would see if anyone could suggest an ideal place for me.
The "perfect" place for me would be close to Nana, clean modern rooms, good gym, nice big balcony with a view and no "walk of shame" (that is, a discreet entrance). I realise that I probably will not be able to find a place with all of the above requirments, just thought I would list them and see how close I can get. Price is not a real issue, I am happy to pay for what I want. And please don't let this thread deteriorate into another discussion on the walk of shame, I understand people have different views, so please just understand that I have my view as well.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Lads,
Obviously no suggestions yet. I have done a bit more research, and have one more question. How bad is the walk of shame at the Majestic Grande? It seems to fit the bill for most other requirements.
Thanks again for any help.

The main reason this thread has gone un-answered is primarily because this subject has been covered extensively on this forum and repetition becomes tedious. The board members favourites can easily be found in this forum and then more detailed research on their specific websites and you make your choice. I would imagine most members have stayed somewhere they weren't happy with at some stage, but that's life, you live and learn.
Also, being the absolute peak time of year (December/New year) the 'perfect' places will likely have been booked up by now. Those who've been before and know the sizzling atmosphere and buzz at this time of year come again and again and often book their rooms a year in advance.
The Majestic Suites 'walk of shame' (sic) is minimal as it's a short one. The Nana Hotel may be considered one of the worst as you pass the whole car park, the smokers coffee area inside, the lounge area (which is always occupied), the reception, the busy lift lobby (which can be seen from the bar), the entrance to the well-used toilets and of course at peak times you rarely ride the lifts alone - I love it
Dynasty Inn on Soi 4 has the rear section of the hotel which means you can duck down the side alley without going through reception/bar/restaurant. This route always makes your friend for the night feel particularly special |

PSword,
Since you raised a specific venue ...
I stayed at the Majestic Grande with my local LB friend for several days (in-house) ... no one ever blinked.
It's a nice place, and easy walk (like a street) directly behind the Majestic Grande from Soi 2 back across to Soi 4 (and NEP) ... or Guess is straight up Soi 2 and across SK Road... |

| The Majestic Suites has been mentioned previously but I don't think that has a gym - unlike the Majestic Grande which does have a gym. The DIG also has a gym. The Landmark hotel has a Fitness First club on the premises. Or any other 5 star hotel in the vicinity will have a gym/fitness centre. |
