I was hoping to go over in January but the thought of Christmas & New Year in Pattaya really appeals.
Is anyone going for the festive season and, if so, what kind of outlay would I expect to pay? |

Think Again.....It is horrendously crowded compared to, say even mid January.
It is perhaps the only time of the year that in Thailand; the vendor is calling the shots |

Any suggestion as to when in mid Jan it dies down? |

I'm heading out on the 10th for a couple of months.
IMO, February and March are the best two months to be in the beach resorts.
The chief two reasons being; perfect weather & not so many tourists compared to mid Dec-mid Jan. |

I've been there at all times of year and it's been a while since I had a Xmas/new Year in Los, but I go for 5½ weeks from early december.
It's definatley much more heaving and packed everywhere at xmas/new year, but there is one heck of a buzz and everyone's on a high on those special days - Can't wait
Depends what you're after, mayhem or chilled-out. |
