full moon party ~ LB-69

hi lads, just a question, friends of mine will be traveling around thai over xmas, they asked me if i knew where and when the full moon party is,
can anyone help us??
just hope they dont find me on lb island as im there same time lol

The Full Moon parties are based at Haad Rin bay in Koh Phangan (an Island Between Koh Samui and Koh Tao).

They take place on teh night of every full moon, but the partying often gets going a few days before and lasts a few days after.

Over the last couple of year the No Moon Party has started to grow in popularity and they also have Half Moon parties (all on the same island but not always at Haad Rin.

It's very much a party Island and there's never a bad time to go if you like to party. But if you are heading for teh full moon party you need to get there 3 or 4 days before OR have pre booked accomodation, Haad Rin gets completely booked out for the days surrounding the party (every month).

The other option is to stay on Koh Samui and use the boats, but it's a good hour journey and the boats get filled quickly during Full Moon events.

full moon party is the biggest party and the most of fun at koh phanghan i have been there many time before i have been in koh samui long time with my cousin.i go to koh samui and koh phanghan with my best freind[lady 100%]she will comeback from holland number 19and 20 we go to samui.full moon is number 24 December.hope to see you there.but you have to find hotel now.amybe full already.goo place to stay is ark bar resort.because near to beach and have party at ark bar every night....call me if anyone want to know about full moon or koh samui.pond

World's biggest all night rave. Mostly backpackers but some ladyboys from Samui make the trip by boat. Be careful of pickpockets and undercover narcs though.

Yep the Full Moon Party is on Koh Phangan,Haad Rin and they also have a Black Moon ,Half Moon or Quater Moon Partys there and if the weather is bad(which is mostly in dec/jan) on Koh Samui.Lots of boring waterdrinking backpackers(we call them Babypackers) and lots of drugs.For sure more kind of drugs than ladyboys.If you stay till the morning you will find lots of condoms ,needles and if you´re very lucky : a dead guy.
#Okay to see the party for the first time it can be a real funny night if you are hanging around with some good people but believe me I was working there once or lets say twice is more than enough.But anyway enjoy !!!!!!

hay been dying to go to the full moon party i really hope i can next year.

Lol, I remember the partys on the island from years ago when the only real building was the small area owned by club med. The party was meant to be for the Full Moon but it pretty much went every night, you'd be walking along the edge of the beach near the dirt road with a young lady sitting backwards on a scooter offering to sell you mushrooms. I spent about 2 months living in a hut about 500m from the main party beach. If I remember correctly it was actually the German backpackers that made it so popular, it was a chicky mikky beach ..(lol not heard the expression in years.)

The old huts wents for $1 a day with the western hut (aka a western toilet sitting over a hole next to it went for $2) Sniff sniff those where the days ...hehe .. A single shower for the huts and the fishing boats would come in each evening/morning and the hut owners would take the orders for what food you wanted the next day.. Hmm the fresh cooked prawn cocktails still warm on a bed of lettuce with a thousand island type dressing over thm ... all for about 20 cents ..

The beachs are great but the only problem I really saw was the damm white scorpions on the beach in the early hours, I woke up one morning after doing the party and passing out from to much drinking to find two of the suckers about 2 inches from my nose.

You often saw lots of people on the island with bandaged and swollen joints from the stings.. Shocked

But they were/are some amazing parties ..
