Been here a couple of days now and La Bamba remains the number one choice for guys to meet.

But someone soon is gonna give that miserable kid behind the counter a serious pounding.

I don't claim to know Chin very well, but have chatted to her briefly on a number of ocassions since she arrived on the scene back at Club 131.

I get the impression she has her good days & bad days.

Although I like the place the dude behind the bar didn't bother me as I possibly paid him the least attention of all the people in there and overall I like the place.

But I have a few comments about the place in general:
- On party nights or when it is busy I would recommend paying for drinks as you go or check-binning every few rounds, as there were several 'clumsy' placings of chits into the wrong containers and some people ended up with incorrect bins. Trying to deal with issues like this in Thailand... well we all know what that's like.
- The music sucks. In fact has anyone ever heard or seen anything other than Beyonce, Shakira or Christina Aguilera DVD's playing? - To suggest the music is tedious would be an understatement. This is a comment I have heard numerous times from other BM's and I totally concur. Please do something about the music, just cos there is a big TV screen doesn't mean the punters have to endure a small selection of music DVD's all the time Rolling Eyes

Reading your posts regarding the DVD music collection brought a smile to my face. The reasoning behind the music selection is simple. If we created a music list from whatever music we felt like listening to the neighborhood BIB will pay us a visit and make us an offer we cannot refuse. Pay 25,000 THB tonight or 50,000 THB tomorrow. The last time we went through a visit like this was in October in Club 131 and the cost was 25k. Early March 2007 Franck was ordered to pay 60,000 or 80,000 THB (the amount is different depending on who you ask).
We learned that the only music allowed was Sony, Warner and Universal labelled titles. There may be another label also allowed.
Also the music must be original not a copy.

On the other hand, the La Bamba Bar Music Library does accept donations to its thread-bear collection.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the BMs that visited Labamba on May 8th for Monkeyman's Birthday Bash. Without all of you the party would have been just another soi party. Thank you.

P.S. Regarding the kid behind the bar, Chon, I intend to do something about him on my next trip this month. I have been aware of his being a liability when it comes with dealing with farangs from the time the bar opened almost 5 months ago. Hoped he would be trained and become better, to no avail. His turn will come soon.

Have not posted since my last tour in February but have just got my tickets for my next trip 'home' in September.

Been in continuous contact with a certain ladyboy from La Bamba and made friends with all those that work there I am so over the moon to be able to once again walk back into the La Bamba in September and ask Porn for a Chang beer and enjoy the fantastic hospitality and warmth that these beautiful girls can only provide.
