I recall some people talking about being able to send phone credit to another phone via SMS and the advance is subtracted from your own credit or added to your bill.
I have Googled it but not found what I'm looking for. There is a service at www.aryty.com but it seems exclusively for the Philippines.
Have any of you guys heard about this or know of a service to 'top-up' your Thai friends' phones?

There's another thread about this gareth.
You don't lose the number, only the credit if the SIM goes unused. |

Yes.
After you have topped-up you are SMS'd a new expiry date.
The credit is what is lost after expiry, not the phone number. |

it used to be free off o2 mobiles but they stopped 0844 to many using it i expect but can still use off landline at 2p a min from uk to mobiles and landline in thailand.
hope it helps.
