I stayed in the C&N Hotel and it worked out fine. It was 'budget' by my standards, (and compared to the DIG in BKK) but it was good. It is a short (very short) walk to Bangla Rd, Cocktails and Dreams, and Soi Ladyboy. Overall, no complaints and would stay there again. I booked a room with the breakfast buffet not knowing it was optional. I made it to the buffet once. Asking for a room without the buffet will save you ~200 baht a night. Which makes the price very reasonable. I almost booked the Patong Inn for the trip, and will have to try it or one of the other recommendations next time.

You paid 200 Baht for the breakfast buffet I hope you got your moneys worth when you did make it.

Hey Freon- I don't want to beat a dead horse or ruin a great thread and resource you have provided. I may have been too hasty in my earlier post. In answer to your questions: 1. I booked via email, and they said 1400 baht including breakfast. So I thought next time I would email back and ask to have a room without breakfast. Worst they could say is no. 2. Again you are correct - You don't know if you don't ask, but you are correct - no guarantee they will do it. And now that I think about it, it was itemized as 200 Baht per room (room includes two people) so 100Baht each - not that bad. 3. 1400 Baht, a stones throw from Bangla, C&D, and 1 block from the beach - I 'll stop complaining or hagling Thanks again for putting the list together, just thought you deserved an answer. -Cheers
