Guess bar will be changing the interior slightly over the coming weeks. Specially built sofas have been ordered to occupy the area taken by the pool table on the left hand side of the bar as you walk in. Therefore there will be sofas on 3 walls of the bar. In the middle of all these sofas is a new feature - the bar is introducing a glazed and illuminated catwalk which will also feature low level seating around the catwalk area. If you can imagine a capital E on its side, the line in the middle is the catwalk and everything else is sofas. New lighting has already started to go into the bar to reflect the layout and the second pool table is going out mid next week. The catwalk staging is planned to come in during the closure period for the election next weekend. Therefore in March, the bar will look quite different to how it does today.

Once thats been completed, attention will be turning to the outdoor terrace of the bar and improving that, followed by the bar itself with new granite and hopefully a footrail Shocked

The staff numbers continue to rise and I think its now 30 staff on salary within the bar. I will try and do full profile of updated team when I get the opportunity. Bar prices have also NOT risen and the bar remains the most competitive priced LB venue in Bangkok - beers at 110 baht for the most part and lady drinks at 100 baht.

Cheers
Mardhi

Ah KoyKaeng, it was only a matter of time before we saw those now immortal words "Where is Guess Bar?" That may very well need to be your epitaph.

Mardhi, the upgrades sound great. Can't wait to see the "new " Guess Bar.

By the way, does anyone know where it is?

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Peace.

Mardhi don't let them play with you about that footrail.

La Bamba wasn't able to have a footrail until we were open almost a month.

They just don't understand the complexity of the engineering and design work that goes into the common footrail.

If you need the phone number of the structural engineer that sucessfully installed the La Bamba Footrail, it would be my pleasure to get it for you.

Good Luck,

Sam

Good news , Mardhi.

Will look forward to the new layout when I get over again; although as a keen pool player the opportunities to engage with the staff around a game of pool were always an attraction -- just don't let go of the remaining table!

Also pleased to hear you will tart up the outside area .. that might solve some problems with people trying to figure out where "the Guess Bar is" Very Happy

Well I can confirm the Pool Table has gone Very Happy and the new sofa's look great and there is a plethora of new young ladies. Only had a few mins to pop in for a beer this weekend but it looked great and is starting to get back the classy feel of the old bar.

I just wish I'd had more time on Sunday night to try out the new sofa's but it wasnt to be. (Probably a good thing as I might still be there.)

But I will be back in the next couple of months and then I should have the time to see how well sprung the sofas are Twisted Evil
