7 years in prison for drug ~ LB-69

Someone asked what you can expect if you are caught with drugs in Thailand.
I cant find that post, but hers from the news:

Tourist Police based on Walking Street were called to the scene of a fight involving an Iranian Tourist near Tony’s Discotheque in the early hours of Monday Morning. He explained to Tourist Police that he was set-upon by two Thai men. One of the suspects was detained by Police and taken back to the Mobile Unit at the entrance to Walking Street. Khun Banyar aged 21 denied allegations of assault. He was routinely searched which uncovered 5 Yabba Tablets, 2 Ecstasy tablets, a small quantity of Crystal Methamphetamine and a small bag of a white powder which was later found to be a harmless powder. He was transferred to Pattaya Police Station where he was urine tested. He failed the test and a further charge of consuming a class 1 drug was included in the Police Report. Police tell us he could face up to seven years in prison if found guilty of the charges brought against him.

So better stay clear from that. Cool

In Thailand, the death penalty is mandatory for, inter alia, the production and trafficking of heroine and the death penalty is discretionary in the case of possession of more than 100 grams of heroine also u get death penalty if u found Guilty of Murder

Following on this, the SR restated his conclusion that the death penalty should be abolished for economic and drug-related crimes. "

just finished a book called ESCAPE by david mcmillan.
true story of the only westerner to ever break out of thailands bangkok hilton.
i wouldnt recomend the book as it as it was shit.
but anyway, inside klong prem, the ladyboys are housed in a seperate building.
