It's defintely in the ballpark.

You can certainly find cheaper, and pay well above the figure you quoted.

I wouldn't have any issue paying 1500 Baht myself these days, providing the vehicle was not some pile of shit.

Cheers

MR toom charges 1200 baht that inclusive of all tolls and parking at BKK airport. And going back to airport is 1000 Baht inclusive of all tolls... Shock

Used Mr. Toom's service a number of times. Always on time and when arriving the driver usually calls my cell while I am waiting for my baggage.

I had two superb drivers last trip. Reliable, reasonable and on time.

Mr. T Taxi service. 1000 Baht door to door, Pattaya to Bkk Airport. He's been recommend on the forum by others as well.

I also had this nice kid pick me up from the airport at Bkk. Very responsive, and with all the multiple travel delays I had coming in, he was still on time, waiting for me. I strongly recommend this kid. 1200 B, all in.

Either one, you'll do fine with.

Thanks for all the replies guys.

Just a thought though to the moderators.

No doubt this question comes up regularly so maybe we could have "pinned" section of drivers?

I sent Mr Toom and email and received a reply a day later.

Good service so far and the price was 1,200 bhat.

Very Happy

I travelled to Pattaya in February with my LB companion and we went by bus from the bus station in BKK. It cost 90Baht - had aircon and took 2 and half hours due to stops to pick up passengers. It was suprisingly civilised!

Why surprisingly? Thailand bus-system is the best in south-east-asia. Very reliable.

No offense intended Recoil - it's just that when she said we're going on the bus I expected to be on one of the buses i'd seen with no windows in and packed to the seams. It was actually a very nice coach!

Also, because the fare was so reasonable, I hardly dared expect anything so comfortable. i'd use the coaches again any day - Im going to Soukothai in June by coach and even though it's a long haul, Im quite looking foreward to it.

I am always amazed how these drivers can do this so cheap - lets face it, with gas at 30b litre and typical car doing 100km/10L how on earth are they making any money on a 300km round trip not even taking into account the tolls (approx; 200b round trip). I guess that explains why most vehicles are old wrecks.

Good point Mardi , thats why I have not been too upset to pay higher than 1500 baht as I know its still very cheap compared with a trip like that at home .
It cost me the same 1500 baht (NZ$) to get a taxi home from my last trip . A drive of 20 to 30 minutes max.
