Club 131?? ~ LB-69

Went past club 131 yesterday and it seems to be open again - anyone know if it's still a LB venue ?? Seemed to be full of farangs and not much sign of any faces from the past.

I'm pretty sure Ukcob was saying that Club 131 had "reopened" under the same name. That would beg for the assumption that he knew it was closed in the first place.

Anyone else know anything about this? Perhaps Pampamsam can shed some light on this? What do you know Sam?

Club 131 only really closed down for a few weeks when Sam moved his business across the street and renamed it La Bamba. The lease on 131 has always been owned by a French Gent called Ricky and the place has now reverted to it's original concept of Pattaya's ''French Connection'' which is how it operated before Franck struck a deal to change the direction to a ladyboy bar Laughing

Incidentally, Ricky also operates Blue Ice Bar in Walking St.

I guess that's why so many of the ex 131 girls are now at the blue ice bar. I know where I'm going to be spending all my time over the next few weeks Smile

I had a drink and a game of pool at Club 131 the other week with Alis.

We were attempting to "channel" the spirit of Franck. Laughing

Was fun to reminisce, and admire that fahionable wallpaper.

Some nice girls in there at the moment (mostly freelancers) and the old short time rooms upstairs are still in use (not sure about Frank's former residence)
If you don't mind to step into french territory and be away from Lbs for a game of pool i agree with KK that the wallpaper is worth the price of a drink. (sorry is so gay to say that)

From what I understand from my vantage point here on the Eastcoast of the US, Ricky found a pair of Frenchmen to rent the bar to about a month ago. The rent being in the neighborhood of 80-85K per month+some other expenses that come up. That figure is about double what we paid monthly when we finally left the end of last year.

My sourses tell me that the new tenants operating 131 will be leaving on this coming Monday....seems operating the bar was not a profitable enoughfor them to continue. I heard they balked at paying the inflated electricity and other expenses billed to them personally by Ricky.

So it goes...
