A few months ago I joined Areeya's World and had some sign up problems and now I have another problem and I was hoping someone could help. I downloaded a number of the videos and now, when I go to play them I get a Media Usage Rights Aquisition window asking for my username and password. I am no longer a member of the site and my previous username and password do not work. I have never had this problem with ANY other site I downloaded videos from. Does anyone know what my problem is? Thanks in advance for any help.  |

The videos on Areeyas site are DRM protected. You need to be active member of the site in order to play them on your computer.

They are not, right now only Areeyas movies got that protection due to specific nature of the site and Uniqueness of the content. |

gotta say that the drm extent of the areeya site is Big Brother levels, and even if it did play on mac's ( which it doesn't) i would not pay to join. This is not a cheap charlie position as i have pretty much been a member of this wonderful lb-69 site since 2005.
just my view on the drm implemented - shame as i would love to see more of areeya, but renting video and content at the same price as every other internet site sells you the ownership, just doesn't cut it... |

| that whole drm thing is appauling . few sites have it and i just dont see the point if you ask me its ripping off the members that fork out the money to join the sites,you should have your clips for ever not just as a member of that site.someone needs to lobby to get that stuff outlawed |

| Yeah, that sucks. That's the reason I quit the Areeya site. I mean, she's okay and the videos were alright, but not worth that. If this or any of my other sites do that, I'll just quit them too. |

Areeyas site will have flash delivery option started from next week, same as Mint site has already. And regarding complains about DRM, I will give you one simple example why small/solo sites need it: imagine yourself paying membership for your favorite site and supporting it for many months or even year, just to find one day all the content of the site, ripped off and available for free download on internet. How would you feel? |

I do sympathise with the problem, but to deny the paying customer for the use of pics and vids himself after paying say 3-5 years of subs ( like i have for a number of sites including this one) is not the answer !
I happily browse through some of the old favorites that i downloaded at the time on the lb-69 site, especially as i am doing research for trips or reliving the experience at a later stage.
i would pay to join an Areeya site but not with the current drm restrictions ( and i am an Apple Mac user used to drm limitations !). So it looks like i will be deprived of Areeya on the lb-69 site in future as all her new stuff seems to have dried up on lb-69.
otherwise keep up the great work on the main site ! |
