Could be interesting. It's on for Melbourne viewers 10 to 11pm, not sure about the rest of the country.

Forty-one-year-old Gavin is a full-time designer and a transvestite in his spare time. He decides to fulfil a lifetime ambition by entering the final of the Mr Miss World contest - the beauty pageant event for transgender people held in Thailand each year. Gavin, also called Leah, is Miss England, the first ever British entrant. What is rather unusual about Gavin as a contestant is that he has had no surgery and is heterosexual, and he is accompanied by his girlfriend Sue. Among the contestants is Darlene who is from Sydney but is representing Egypt. Darlene is a transsexual who has been living as a woman since she was 18.

I think I attended that contest in October 2006 at the Tiffanny theatre in Pattaya  Certainly there was an entry from the UK and it was won by a tv from Mexico if memory serves. |

I didn't catch the year of this pagent, the winner was from Korea. I found it interesting that the UK entrant regarded himself as a hetrosexual and had a GG as a girlfriend, quiet a contrast. I also found it interesting that the makers of the documentary claimed that most transgender people are straight, somehow dont quiet beleive that.

The winner of Miss International Queen 2005 was a preop ts Mimi Marks from the USA, 1st runner up was Yu Ri from Korea and 2nd runner was Miss Tiffany 2005.
The winner of Miss International Queen 2006 was Erica Andrews, a preop ts from the USA, but of Mexican heritage,1st runner up Patricia Montrecarlo from the Philippines, 2nd runner up was Miss Tiffany 2006,
The winner of Miss International Queen 2007 was Nong Film, Miss Tiffany 2007, first runner up was Miss Brazil and 2nd runner up was one of the Filipina entrants.
Miss Tiffany 2008 will be held on May 30 at Miss Tiffany Theatre and will be broadcast on Thai TV and a web broadcast by Thai TV Channel 7. |
