| I can confirm the dregs of English society are very much still in their home country. |

Don`t worry sweetie, it won`t happen for a while.
Although i have to admit, Pattaya have good gyms, loaded with heavy iron (being an old powerlifter). Ok, i better stop finding positive things about the place or i will end up there again. |

If you go to Las Vegas it is all gambling.
Pattaya evolved as a P4P destination after the US troops 'discovered' this sleepy fishing village.
There are great bars and restaurants in Pattaya. 18 Golf courses. Cinemas, bowling, parks etc etc. Travel south and there are some great beaches.
If you stay in central Pattaya your whole trip then "Yes" the P4P business is in your face. What was the purpose/objective of your visit? |

IMO, which I do respect
Pattaya is perhaps the best International vacation destination in the World suitable to sexualy active Single Men on a budget of £10,000.00 per month or less.
However, I have not been to Rio yet |

What's with al the judgement people? This is really a very simple proposition.
If you "hate Pattaya," then don't go. If all you've ever done is go to Pattaya, stay at large western style hotels, lay by the pool or sleep all day, so you can wake around 6pm, go out at 11 and hunt until dawn, you haven't SEEN Pattaya either. If this is how you choose to spend your time there, that's fine, no problem, but there is another side to the place.
Try spending a morning (i mean 8am ish) and you'll see a different Pattaya (aside from the odd Farang or bar girl walking home from an all nighter). Won't see too many "dregs" since they're all asleep until 6pm.
If you don't like someone sitting in the bar next to you, don't talk to them. They may not be a dreg, but rather a CEO on vacation who didn't bother to shave for 10 days and may be a little hung over from his previous night. Who cares? If their not bugging you for money, smell too bad or aren't hitting on your LB, then let it be.
If you think Pattaya beach is dirty, don't swim there. Go 4km to the south and hit Jomtein Beach (much nicer), or take a day trip (45 minute ferry ride) to Koh Larn (even nicer still). Granted, this Koh Larn trip cannot be done after 6pm, so it will be have to one of those "early day" things.
If you're going to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe or other western style restaurants, every time. Fine for you, but you're missing out on some wonderful local flavors. Eat street once in a while! Cheap and delicious, and defines what "Fast Food" is supposed to be, not McDonalds.
If you think Pattaya has "dregs", you've never been to New York City, Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Shanghai, Marrakesh, Paris, Madrid, Berlin or Rome. Way more dregs, far more dangerous, but just as charming in their own ways. It's all out there (good and bad) and you just have to find what works for you.
At the end of the day, go or don't go. It's "up to you" and there's great stuff everywhere if you keep an open mind to find it.
Just a short story that actually happened during my visit last month. I'd been living for the month at the Stereo Guest Suites (now the Liquid Lounge and Suites) on Soi Buakaho & LK Metro and got a new neighbor. He introduced himself, was a fellow yank, but had been living in Hungary for the past few years.
He proceeded to tell me how much he hates Pattaya already (and he had only gotten off the plane 12 hours earlier) and it was filled with degenerates, dregs and old perverts. He didn't like the food, climate or look of thai women, but was going to stay for a month. I asked why was he here, and he replied "it's cheap, and I've done all of my virtual touring on the internet, so I thought I knew the place."
I advised him to lighten up on his attitude and just ignore the things you don't like and seek out new experiences and he might be pleasantly surprised.
Each day, he's stop by my place and chat me up, mostly to bitch and moan, and I told him the same thing over and over again (I am a patient man these days).
Gradually, the bitching and moaning went away, and he found his ground and things that made him happy about the place. It took a couple of weeks, but he was actually enjoying the ride now, and never bitched about the dregs anymore (sort of learning to ignore the Indian tailors).
Oh lastly, this guy also hated the idea of LB's, but was continuously lusting after the stream of beauties in and out of my apartment (he had no idea). He even spent an hour chatting with one of my LB's and didn't know, and thought she was delightful (which she was). This was my own little private joke, and he'll likely come around on this point too.
FFS people, if you don't like something, so be it, but don't take it so personally that others take an opposing view.
mai pen rai, all.
Cheers.

There's no doubt I'd use the donate button for a few useful tips. In fact paying for good information would be just fine too as long as it was top notch. |

Wise words as usual Auto !
I must say, that a couple of years ago their were plenty more detractors, with only negative things to say about Pattaya.
Many of these guys have come to like or at least endure Pattaya, simply because of their love for ladyboys.
I've loved the place since day 1, and many of those supposedly negative elements are what gives the place it's character.
Not sure I could live there, but its a great place to spend a few weeks.
Cheers

I'd probably been to LOS 20 times before going to Pattaya. So when I finally went there only in March 2007 I fully expected to hate it, but would put up with it for the LB scene. The weirdest thing happened, I liked it straight away, I've been 6 time since then, I admit it would lack a certain charm if it were not for the mother lode of LB's, but I would still like it.
I have had more than one self congratulating conversation with other BM's when we have contrasted and compared the average LB lover with the usual GG chasing piss pot that inhabits so many bars around town. think that the unflattering labels being thrown about certainly fit some of the guys that visit, but they do not apply to the vast majority of the discerning gents that share our passion |

I went to Pattaya for a few days for the first time last year and I loved the place. If you don't like it stay away, then the those of us that like the place will have less chance of running into grumpy, sad pricks crying into their beers, and we'll be able to get on with having a ball in peace.
Btw I'll be back there having a ball in 2 months.
