I used to spend most of my time in BKK, but have slowly learned to love Pattaya, some of the positives not mentioned is almost everything is in walking distance or a 2 min baht bus/taxi away, the place pretty much never closes, as a newbie finding things to do or the ladies anytime of day is easy, in bkk unless you know whats open your stuck and much of it is so spreadout that its becomes an issue, nana/guess is great to between 7pm and 2am and easily beats Pattaya for sheer talent within a 100metres but the rest of the time IMHO its more of a pot luck finding talent. (Especially as I hate handing out my # so dont line them up.)
Also I've found it easier to find things to do in the daytime in Pattaya as far as just kicking back. (BKK is probably harder for me as I've been so many times and to so many of the tourist places that now I just dont feel like doing the tours.)
Love both places but spend more time in Pattaya because of the above, I fly in frequently for a 2/3 nights and almost always find myself grabbing a taxi down to Pattaya when I arrive. |

Pattaya for me every time there is nowhere like it in the world,
Bangkoks good but i couldnt find much daytime action and like Phuket is much more expensive than Pattaya, as for western food Pattaya caters for every type of quisine and is really high quality, I need to book a bus ticket soon !! |

Been Pattaya once, lasted 4 hours before heading back to Bangkok.
Got fed up of all the suit sellsmen i encountered whilst heading toward walking street.
It looks like a great place for LB's at cheaper rates then BKK or Phuket, and I often think about giving it a second shot, but hated the look and the "Feel" of the place, so probably will never return. Bangkok is fun at night, boring by day, and i've only ever stayed there to break up the flying, and meet some gorgeous LB's.
Its Phuket all the way for me now - cant for the life of me think why...... |

And they don't have the tailor touts in Patong they must be flown in especially for my trips then I suppose.
Your trip lasted 4 hours blimey, something must have scared you Fatboy
For my part, although I do like Patong and indeed other parts of beautiful Phuket. In terms of nightlife, Pattaya is in a different league when it comes to variety of venues and the quality of genetic girls for those of us who like to mix n match the two genders |

Of course they do have the tailors in Patong, but I found the one's in Pattaya were somewhat more "Pushy". The one's in Phuket were, for the majority, happy with a "No Thanks".
Nothing particularly scared me, but dont think i was quite in the "Pattaya" frame of mind, and I had absolutely no idea what to expect. It took me the best part of the day to get there from the more serene Koh Samui via Surat Thani and Air Asia, and one of Bangkok's many Bus depots, checked into a shitty hotel compared to what I was staying in, and had just left behind a GG who I had spent a week with. I then got harassed to death on my first and only outing to walking street, and then paid an extorsionate amount for a beer once I got there. Im big on first impressions, and this was not a good one, and knew i'd end up miserable if I had stayed any longer.
No doubt the choice of Venue, girls, LB's will be probably the best in Thailand.
I was a shy boy back then, and would probably have a better time if I went back now, particularly if meeting up with fellow BM's.
But for now, Phuket has everything I need , so for the time being, you wont be seeing me in Pattaya..... |

Much more expensive?? You mean you pay 500 baht less for a hooker. Thatīs 10 euros, 15 usd or Ģ7. And 20 baht less for a beer? Yeah, MUCH more expensive.... I canīt understand why some of us are called cheap charlies
And the Pattaya cousine ?? You have got to be kidding!!
Only been to Phuket once, but i liked it. Lb talent no way nere Bkk though.
Early this year Obsessions was closed so the girls worked in Cascades a few nights. Imagine the talent. Cascades packed with the best lbīs in the world. Iīll never forget that.. |

To be honest, I've never caught an STD in LOS.. Yet..
Saying that, I'd rather eat a skanky Soi 6 LB ass than the all day Olympic breakfast at Crazy Daves. |

Thanks for all of the replies... turns out to be a good discussion on the pros and cons of various places... can't get this info in tourist brochures!
To be honest, as a holiday destination i prefer Indonesia because of my other liesure activities but i have to go to Thailand for business and only Bkk and Pattaya are really convenient. So, based on all the above info, Pattaya sounds like the best way to spend a couple of free days. Just gotta take your time and look for the talent, huh?
Looking forward to it more every day. |
