I've just had the misfortune to have my wee Nikon S630 nicked........the SD card had around 400 of my best pics on it as I was in the process of transferring pics and had switched cards quickly as I was going out for the evening.....duh......
As well as lots of LB action featuring yours truly I also had some revealing ones of my GF.........double duh...
I usually keep my LoS SD cards in my safe but wanted one quick........I will replace the camera but this could potentially be embarrassing if the fucker knows me.......... |

I always carry my trusty cheap-shit nettop with me. I download pictures on hard disk and... my SD&CF cards are spotlessly clean for customs/police/GF/thief ready to be nicked or browsed through.

I always travel fairly clean regarding SD content and transfer pics as soon as I return so the content is intact safe on a portable hard drive......
I'd transferred pics onto the SD card to put onto another PC.......didn't have time to remove them......
Some bugger took my camera and i-phone from my apartment which was locked so the locks have now been changed......... |

I'm working class and appreciate my stuff and its value to me.....I do feel the loss and associated anger that comes with it.....no insurance where I am located means it's replacement is once again down to me..

| Sorry to hear about your loss Petesie. Just a point worth noting about deleting things off memory cards, there is software around for recovering deleted files, not that it really makes much difference to us here but it is worth knowing that deleted photos are not really gone until that part of the memory on the card has been overwritten by another photo. |

I neglected to mention that I always keep my happy snapper in a Lowepro pouch on my belt....this is where I usually keep some emergency cash in a handy partially hidden velcro pocket.....(you need that when you're out bevying with the SLBT).......
So the delightful chap now has my phone, camera and 6k baht.......fecking arsewipe........ |

What a friggin' nuisance!!
Not only has he taken expensive items, he violates your private life when he goes peeking at the pics in the camera. If he did try to use them to embarrass you, he runs a good chance of exposing his identity. But better for you if he just threw the card away.
At least you haven't lost any phone numbers, the iPhone synchs with your PC everytime you plug in for updates. If you replace it with another iPhone, try downloading one of the apps that will track your phone in case of loss via the GPS. There are at least 6 different apps that will show you where your phone is, even if they swap the sim card.
I was just reading of one that allows you to send yourself a text message from your phone when you don't have it with you. If the thief has changed the sim, you will have his number. That is all the police need to identify him.
And if he hasn't changed the sim, ring your phone & see if he answers. Tell him that you have tracked him via GPS & he will be arrested in the next few hours unless he leaves everything somewhere you can collect them.
It has to be worth a shot. Good luck Petesie. |

Thanks again Fellas....
A few of my neighbours have had similar stuff go in the last few months so we roughly know who the culprits are and where the stuff ends up....
Unless we catch him in the act we are at a loss.....
I shall put this behind me and shall look for replacement items.....the thief will get his in the end.......
